DEI & Workplace Culture Consulting

There’s a way to create workplaces that make people feel good.

Spaces that meet the unique identities and experiences of their employees with curiosity, respect, and compassion. Environments that reject the oppressive narratives of professionalism and capitalism that are so deeply embedded in our companies and organizations. Workplaces that become communities of celebration and support, because they believe that their people are their greatest asset.

At Counterculture, we believe that creating these workplaces is not just possible, but necessary.

We partner with with businesses and organizations who are committed to examining and evolving their workplace operations in an effort to create equitable and inclusive environments where employees can thrive. Through speaking engagements, trainings, and individualized support, we help employers disrupt toxic systems, transform their workplace culture, and accelerate organizational change with one key community in mind: the employees.

Career Alignment & Coaching

We spend way too much of our time at work to settle for unsupportive, disempowering, or toxic environments. Counterculture’s services help employees identify and land positions that are aligned to their values and needs through career alignment, coaching, and job search preparation. We also teach employees how to practice more self-advocacy in the workplace and manage difficult situations through our resources and 1:1 coaching.

Meet Cheltzie Miller-Bailey

Cheltzie Miller-Bailey (she/they) is an educator and advocate who has been supporting clients and colleagues transform relationships to their careers and their approach to DEI efforts for nearly a decade. As an anti-capitalist, she is passionate about deconstructing systems of oppression in the workplace and building the foundation for a world that that prioritizes self-advocacy, rest, and joy as mechanisms of resistance. Though she doesn’t yet have the ultimate solution, Cheltzie works alongside colleagues and clients that are committed to changing the status quo as they build new systems and workplaces that are equitable and inclusive.

In addition to her experience in DEI, Cheltzie is experienced in event planning, community development, and training & development. Outside of Counterculture, she also works as an Outdoor Recreation Guide and Program Manager. She considers supporting members of her communities and other people of marginalized experience pursue workplace safety while honoring and celebrating their full identities to be an integral part of her life’s mission.

When she’s prioritizing rest and joy for herself, Cheltzie can be found on a hike, at the gym, or on a patio enjoying pizza and laughing with friends.
